Connect Oracle Cloud
Argus scans an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) tenancy read-only with an API signing key. Nothing is installed in the tenancy, and Argus only ever reads.
Before you start
- A read-only user in the tenancy and permission to add an API key to it.
- An available account slot: Free connects one account, Pro connects an unlimited number. See Billing & plans.
Provider-side setup
- Use or create a user with read-only access to what you want scanned. Argus only reads.
- Add an API signing key to that user and keep the private key (PEM).
- From the console, note the user OCID, the tenancy OCID, the key fingerprint, and the region.
Required permissions
Grant the user, through a group policy, read-only access to the tenancy, for
example policy statements that inspect and read the resource types Argus
scans. Argus only reads; no manage or use permissions are needed.
Connect in Argus
Go to Accounts and click Connect account. Pick Oracle Cloud, then the API key method. Enter:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| User OCID | the user's OCID |
| Key fingerprint | the API key fingerprint |
| Tenancy OCID | the tenancy's OCID |
| Region | the home region, e.g. us-ashburn-1 |
| Private key (PEM) | the API signing private key |
| Key passphrase | optional, if the key is encrypted |
Connection test
Finish the wizard. Argus stores the credential server-side and runs an asynchronous connection test before the first scan. The account card reports Connected, Checking…, or Failed. On a failure, re-check the values above and use Test connection on the account card to retry.
